About Accident and Sickness

Accident & Sickness policies are in reality short term Income Protection or Income Replacement policies which usually cover unemployment as an option.

Although there are a number of such short term accident and sickness policies available in the market we were never really able to find policies that either suited the requests we were receiving from the public, or policies we were really happy with the terms of.

We searched the market until we found the ideal policy, underwritten by Sagicor, an accident and sickness specialist and a Lloyds of London Syndicate

There were a number of things we wanted our policy to address that others did not.

A) Our experience is that many high risk occupations are much more concerned about the possibility of suffering an accident than being sick, particularly the self employed who tend, if at all possible, to work when sick because it is their livelihood at stake, The policy offered by us is the only one available in the UK where you can opt to separate the accident cover from the sickness cover.

B) They advertise payment after day one etc but the small print says first you must be off sick for 30 days. In other words if you are off for 29 days then you get nothing. The policy we recommend pays when it says it does.

C) If your employer pays you or you receive money from elsewhere they deduct that from your payment. The amount our policy says it will pay you, it does. What you receive elsewhere is not our concern.

D) Stops paying after 26 or 52 weeks. our Accident and Sickness policy continues to pay for 12 weeks up to a maximum of 104 weeks, the choice is yours

E) Can only claim up to 50% of your salary. The policy we reccommend allows you to claim up to 65%.

F) Cover’s all occupations but as soon as you are a high risk they exclude you or load your premium. Our policy has five standard types of occupation and even if you are not one of them we will find a way to cover you. From Body Guards in Baghdad to Super bike racers we can cover you.

G) What if an accident kills you or results in you breaking an arm or leg etc. No cover with the others. We offer optional cover for these as well.

H) Optional unemployment cover if required.
